Bill Hicks Remembered
Bill Hicks was without a doubt one of the best comedians of his generation. For ten years he shocked audiences around the world with a brand of comedic satire and social commentary that has yet to be out done. Before succumbing to pancreatic cancer at the age of 32, he had occasion, twelve times to be exact, to appear on the David Lettermen show. On the 12th and final appearance, he delivered a set that was to be a kind of swan song. To say that this performance was considered controversial would be an understatement. At the behest of David Letterman himself, the performance was excised from the final edit of the show.
Recently, David Letterman decided to air Bill Hick’s rant with the blessing of his mother, Mary Hicks in a show dedicated Bill and his life as a comic. After fifteen years, the truth can finally be told on the David Letterman show!
